WKU Aging is guided by the belief that optimal aging is attainable on both the individual and community level and requires implementing holistic strategies. Keys inlude increasing or maintaining physical activity, improving eating habits, preventing disease, injury and disability, maximizing financial and physical independence and maintaining active participation with the community. Located within

a historically rural environment, the Center recognizes the value of interdisciplinary and intergenerational collaboration in developing approaches that respect the needs of older adults and the rural communities that support them. Committed to balancing gerontological theory with practice, the Center nurtures dynamic partnerships between agencies working on aging issues, Western Kentucky University and the international community.

Last week, the Board of Trustees met and discussed marketing, fundraising, financial planning, goals, and strategic initiatives. Fulfilling our mission wouldn't be possible without the great collaboration, opinions, and expertise of our board. We are grateful for every member's time and talent for our shared vision and goals!

It is with mixed feelings that we share that Dr. Dana Bradley will be heading to University of Maryland Baltimore County this summer. While it is exciting news, the friends of all ages at WKU and in the region will be deeply missed.

This webinar hosted by the Gerontological Society of America (GSA) will familiarize new users with the study including previewing available data, how to access it, and some tips on getting started with analysis.
