On May 28th the Senior Companion Program held their volunteer recognition. The volunteers were celebrated with goodie bags and t-shirts as well as a great meal. The Barren River Health Department provided useful information on heat strokes and summer insects. All enjoyed healthy smoothies made by staff of Barren River Health Department.Thank you Samantha and Peyton for everything. Today our New American seniors completed a three-part series with Warren County NEP (UK Extension Office) about healthy living and nutrition. Seniors also received farm-fresh vegetables and eggs from a partner with BG Neighbors Aid Network .

We’re celebrating today with an incredible success story! It’s stories like these that embody the hope and dedication of and inspire us in everything we do. Read Jade's story about her experience with our Head Start program below:

"Head Start has been such an important part of our family’s journey. My daughter attended Little Scholars Head Start, where she was given a strong foundation for learning, growth, and confidence. Watching her thrive there inspired me even more in my own path working in childcare. I started my career as a childcare director, dedicated to supporting children and families, and now I am proud to be graduating with my Master of Social Work degree. This achievement means so much to me because it reflects years of hard work, perseverance, and a passion for helping others. Head Start not only supported my daughter’s development, but it also reminded me of the power of education, encouragement, and community in changing lives."
