Bowling Green has received youth bike helmets for distribution through support from the Ohio AAP Foundation, Ohio Department of Transportation, and Honda USA Foundation. 100 helmets will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. Those in need of a youth helmet may pick one up at the Bowling Green Community Center during the following hours:

Tuesday, June 2nd: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Thursday, June 4th: 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Saturday, June 6th: 10:00 AM – Noon

Sizes and quantities are limited. Bicycle safety messages and directions for how to properly fit the helmet are included with each helmet.

Ensuring our employees have access to safety tools! ♥️ 🩹 Bowling Green Fire Division recently distributed Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to the City Public Works and Water Distribution/Treatment buildings and offices. Each pack came with an AED and patches for both adults and pediatrics, and a " Stop the Bleed" kit.

Join us for a quarterly car seat safety check-up event at the Bowling Green Fire Division Station 2 from 1-4 p.m. on June 16. 🚗🚼
This event is in coordination with Wood Lane - Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities and Wood County Hospital. Take advantage of this opportunity to have your car seat inspected by experts and learn valuable information about keeping your children safe while traveling.

Bowling Green’s Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony will take place Monday, May 25, beginning at 10 a.m. Downtown streets along the parade route will have rolling closures during the event.
Following the parade, a ceremony honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery featuring community speakers, music, and tributes from local veterans and leaders. Recently, the Bowling Green Fire Division participated in a safety fair at the Wood County Committee on Aging.

Crew members had a great time meeting people and answering questions about fire safety and more.

Our firefighters in the BG Leadership Class of 2026 encourage YOU to sign up for the Pickleballin' For a Good Cause event. 🥒🏓
As part of their leadership project, the class is holding a pickleball tournament at the Bowling Green Community Center. Proceeds of the event support Bowling Green Parks & Recreation Foundation and the Bowling Green Community Foundation.
