NAMI Wood County To support, educate, and advocate for individuals affected by mental illness in Wood County.

NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) is a volunteer, nonprofit 501(c)3 grassroots national organization, founded in 1979. NAMI is comprised of family, friends and consumers affected by an emotional/mental/ neurobiological brain disorder. These disorders can profoundly disrupt a person’s ability to think, feel and relate to others, which can result in diminished capacity for coping with ordinary demands on life. NAMI Wood County is your local contact agency providing compassion, hope, education, coping skills and advocacy to families, friends and those with neurobiological brain disorders.

🔥 AfterBurn 2026 was our biggest one yet! 🔥

On October 2, we welcomed nearly 200 community members to the Wood County Fairgrounds for an evening of connection, creativity, and mental health awareness during Mental Illness Awareness Week. Thanks to your generosity, we raised over $7,000 to support NAMI Wood County’s free classes, support groups, presentations, and trainings.

🎃 Trunk or Treat was a hit, with incredible booths from local agencies—congrats to the Wood County Educational Service Center for earning this year’s Fan Favorite!
🌶️ Our Chili Cook-off brought the heat, judged by partners from the Wood County Sheriff’s Office and NAMI Greater Toledo. Big shoutout to Jessica Hartman & Bree Snow for taking home the Golden Spoon, and Bree Snow for snagging People’s Choice!

The night closed with a meaningful moment of silence and a powerful sign‑singing performance of “This Is Me” by Staci Taper, reminding us why community matters.
