It's been a strong Fulbright US Student Program year for WKU as well, with 5 students offered awards and 1 designated an alternate. This year we have our first winners to Sweden, Japan, and Ireland!

Five WKU students have been offered Fulbright U.S. Student Grants for the 2019-20 academic year and one has been designated as an alternate.

WKU students also continue to excel in the National Security Education Program Boren Scholarship competition, with 5 of our Chinese Flagship scholars receiving up to $20,000 to fund their Capstone Year programs in China and Taiwan!

Five WKU students have earned Boren Scholarships of up to $20,000 to fund up to a year of critical language-focused study abroad.

WKU students continue to excel in the US Department of State Critical Language Scholarship competition! At least 7 will be leaving soon for China, Taiwan, Japan, and Morocco to participate in fully-funded intensive language programs this summer!

Nine WKU students were awarded Critical Language Scholarships that fully fund summer study in intensive language programs abroad. Six others were named alternates and may be upgraded as additional funding becomes available.

It's been a busy year! Let's take a moment to catch up on some good news. For the second year in a row, we have a Fund for Education Abroad Scholar! Congrats, Andrea Day!

Andrea Day, a junior international affairs and Arabic major, has been awarded a Fund for Education Abroad (FEA) scholarship to study in Jordan in summer 2019.

Deven Richardson of Bowling Green is the first student to be selected as a Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Program Fellow. He will receive $37,500 annually for a two-year graduate degree, paid internships in the U.S. Congress and embassies abroad, and numerous opportunities for mentoring and professional development.
