Leadership Knows No Boundaries
Leadership knows no boundaries and sometimes the best examples of leadership are found outside the traditional workplace or classroom.
Andrew Miller is one of our Brownwater Expeditions river guides and healthcare instructors, but his commitment to service, leadership and developing others extends well beyond Brownwater.
Andrew serves with the Civil Air Patrol as the Tennessee Wings Deputy Director of Emergency Services (Ground) and as the Deputy Commander for Cadets with the Music City Composite Squadron in Nashville, Tennessee. He has also earned the Expert Ranger proficiency grade and serves on staff at Hawk Mountain Ranger School where he continues to develop and share his expertise in outdoor leadership and skills.
His commitment to youth development extends to Scouting America, where he serves as Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 9 and as a Merit Badge Counselor for the Bledsoe Creek District.
Recently, Andrew represented Brownwater Expeditions while working with Troop 1058 from Joelton, Tennessee, assisting Scouts as they worked toward earning their merit badges.
This is the kind of leadership and service we value at Brownwater Expeditions. Andrew doesn't simply teach skills: he uses his knowledge and experience to develop others, prepare people to serve and help young people discover what they are capable of accomplishing.
Whether he's on the river, teaching lifesaving skills, serving with the Civil Air Patrol or mentoring young people through Scouting, Andrew consistently uses his knowledge and experience to help others grow.
We're proud to have Andrew as part of the Brownwater Expeditions team and grateful for the experience, knowledge and passion he continues to share with our youth and communities.
Leadership knows no boundaries, service has no limits and the skills we share today can help build the leaders of tomorrow.
