The International Center of Kentucky, wishes to thank the Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Owensboro for conducting a “Know Your Rights” training for our refugees and immigrants at the International Center on Saturday, February 7th, 2026. The training was valuable and highly needed by the refugees and immigrants we serve, who are panic stricken by what they see in the media regarding actions by ICE.

Are you interested in starting your own business?

Join us for the Refugee Entrepreneurship Workshop on Friday, November 14, 2025, at the International Center of Kentucky, 806 Kenton St, Bowling Green.

Two sessions are available:
• 10:00–11:00 am: Introduction to Entrepreneurship (for new participants)
• 11:15 am–12:15 pm: Your Business Idea Business Model Canvas (for participants who have attended previous trainings)

This session is designed for ORR eligible individuals who have been in the United States for 5 years or less and are ready to take the next step toward business ownership.

Important Updates Regarding SNAP and Medicaid

The International Center would like to make our community aware of upcoming changes to federal laws that will affect SNAP (food stamps) and Medicaid programs. These changes will impact immigration status eligibility for both programs.

Beginning October 25, 2025, individuals holding refugee status will no longer be eligible for SNAP benefits.

Beginning October 1, 2026, individuals holding refugee status will no longer be eligible for Medicaid.

After these dates, new applications or renewals for these programs from individuals with refugee status will be denied and existing benefits will be discontinued.

If you require food assistance after losing SNAP benefits, The International Center operates a Food Pantry every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

This is a developing situation, and we appreciate your patience as we continue to receive new information from DCBS.
