Presented by the Kentucky Rural Water Association (KRWA), the Wooden Bucket Award recognizes Kentucky water and wastewater utilities that demonstrate exceptional leadership, sound management, operational excellence, and a strong commitment to the communities they serve.

💧 Employee Spotlight: Leah Upchurch 💧

This week, we're excited to recognize Leah Upchurch, who has been serving as our Student Engineer for 1 year and 11 months!

When asked what she enjoys most about working at the Water District, Leah shared:

"I enjoy seeing projects go from the design stage to something that is built and benefits the community. I've learned a lot since I started here, and every project gives me the opportunity to learn something new while working alongside people who are always willing to answer my questions."

Leah chose a career in civil engineering because she enjoys solving problems and making a meaningful impact:

"I've always liked solving problems and wanted a career where I could make a difference. Civil engineering, specifically in water infrastructure, stood out to me because the work directly benefits the community. I like knowing that the projects I contribute to help improve the systems people rely on every day."

🚨 We're Hiring: Operations Center Technician or Specialist 🚨

Warren County Water District is seeking to fill one full-time position in our Operations Department.

This position offers a unique opportunity for candidates at different stages of their careers. Applicants will be considered for placement as either an Operations Center Technician or an Operations Center Specialist, with classification determined by experience, credentials, licensure, and other job-related qualifications.

We're looking for individuals who can thrive in a fast-paced environment while helping support critical water and wastewater operations that serve our community.

Responsibilities include:
✔ Monitoring and responding to SCADA system activity

✔ Coordinating operations and maintenance activities

✔ Dispatching and tracking work orders

✔ Communicating with field personnel during emergency situations

✔ Processing utility locate requests

✔ Providing excellent customer service

Ideal candidates will possess strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills and be comfortable working with multiple technology platforms, including SCADA, GIS, CMMS, and Microsoft 365.

Experienced water and wastewater professionals are encouraged to apply, but we also welcome applicants who are eager to learn and grow within the industry.
