Nominate someone you know for a Spirit of Wood County Award, a longstanding local tradition recognizing residents who demonstrate outstanding community service, personal integrity, and dedication to improving life in Wood County.

Awards in seven categories will be presented at an event later this year. Through the end of August, anyone can nominate a current or former Wood County resident by submitting a form available at www.woodcountyohio.gov along with a statement describing the individual’s achievements, public involvement, and community impact.

Outdated: We are aware of a phone outage that is preventing calls to and from Wood County offices. Incoming 9-1-1 calls have not been affected and are still reaching emergency dispatchers. Our team is investigating the issue and will share an update when we learn more.

Senior Day is always one of the most popular attractions at the Wood County Fair. Local elected officials assisted the Wood County Committee On Aging Tuesday afternoon with serving lunch to hundreds of seniors under the big tent near the grandstands.
