We know a committee day might not sound like the most exciting thing in the world.
BUT, it's where big decisions are made, new opportunities are created, and the right people are gathered to create positive change.
On Wednesday, our committees did just that, covering regional hazard mitigation and emergency planning, transportation initiatives, water quality, and our regional response to the opioid epidemic.
Our team was introduced to the new Kentucky Office of Homeland Security Executive Director Amy Hess, introducing her to the BRADD region and discussing our county/city hazard mitigation goals.
Our Transportation Committee heard quarterly updates from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (including the latest updates to the 31W construction in Bowling Green).
Our Regional Transportation Planner Ethan Bates introduced Vision Zero - our district's traffic safety initiative to reduce the number of fatalities and serious injuries on our roadways to ZERO.
We unveiled our new transportation site, and the latest on the Bowling Green to Mammoth Cave Trail.
LifeSkills, Inc. joined us along with the rest of our Opioid Advisory Committee for the latest timeline and construction updates on the Anchor Project, our regional response to the opioid epidemic.
All of this, and more. The work happening behind the scenes. The work that shapes our region, and the work that you can have a stake in!
Join us at our public meetings - we love to hear from you!
