I currently work for the US Department of State as a military contractor for the Diplomatic Security Service by way of a company called International Development Solutions. I am assigned to the Embassy Protection Detail at the US Embassy in Kabul Afghanistan, and work on mobile teams assigned to protect our diplomats and other US personnel working in Afghanistan. I moved to Bowman in 2001, was mar
ried to Tressa Silha on June 29, 2002 (best decision I have ever made) and we currently live ¾ of a mile NW of Logan and Diana Silha. Tressa and I help Logan and Diana on the Lazy JS Ranch when we can and are committed to this community and the ranching way of life. Tressa and I now have two beautiful girls (rapidly becoming strong young women) Cheyenne and Suttyn, and as both are in school, Bowman Counties environment for raising children is one of my chief priorities. My parents own a small retirement farm near Casselton, ND, and growing up, we always lived on a farm where ever we moved. Because of this, farming and ranching is in my blood and its protection and preservation from bureaucracy and government overreach is also a top priority. Being born in the sand hills of Nebraska to a family with a history of farming and ranching, it is something I care very much about. I have Zero Tolerance for an Unaccountable Government, Drugs, and Domestic Abuse of any form especially against children, and I vow to combat these societal cancers every chance I get. I am a member of the Bowman Lions Club, the Knights of Columbus, the NRA, the American Legion, and the Constitutional Sheriff’s and Peace Officers Association. I care about our community, our chosen way of life, and I care about the Constitution; which provides protections for rights given to us by God, rights no man can individually and arbitrarily take away. I look forward to continued service to our county by being accessible to the people, visible in the community, and am committed to a community driven leadership plan, I intend to turn your input into action. I believe that the office of the Sheriff is not a 9 to 5 and till noon on Friday job, but a 24/7/365 endeavor to provide the people of this county the protections they deserve. I have an open-door policy, please feel free to contact me anytime you have a question or a need.
