During the Month of May, the Lehighton Fire Department Water Rescue and Underwater Recovery responded to 3 different waterway incidents that resulted in fatalities. These incidents occurred in Carbon, Lehigh, and Monroe Counties. As we are just really getting into swimming and watersport season, we would like to take this time to remember to practice waterway safety. For the safety of you and your family and for the benefit of first responders please ensure you are following these guidelines and make wise decisions. Thank you.

Memorial Day is more than the start of summer — it is a day to reflect on the courage, dedication, and selflessness of those who gave everything for our freedom.
