We are beginning to see Medetomidine in the Fentanyl in our area. This is a potent sedative. The Narcan/Naloxone first responders administer will have no effect on the Medetomindine.

We are just over a quarter of the calendar year and EMS and Law Enforcement have already responded to more than 30 overdose calls. We are on pace for 120 overdose calls this year, and those are just the ones reported.

Please don't hesitate to call if you believe someone may be overdosing! With the potential for Medetomidine mixed in the Fentanyl, minutes may be the difference in life or death on these calls.

The Rocky Boy Police Department would like to send out a huge thank you to the community, Tribal departments and local businesses who donated to our annual Shop with a Cop event. This magical evening was enjoyed by all on December 12th, 2025.

This year’s event gave a unique holiday experience to 37 children within the jurisdiction of the Rocky Boy’s Reservation. Each child was nominated by their school, and given $500 to shop at Walmart followed by dinner at Pizza Hut.

Funding for this event was only made possible through the amazing support of the community. This year was our largest by far thanks to the generous donations from so many. We were able to more than double the amount of children for our Shop with a Cop event. We take great pride in working together with our community, our first responders and our youth to bring positive opportunities and build relationships.

We look forward to doing this again next year!

Happy Holidays!!

The Rocky Boy Police Department had the opportunity to participate in the Subzero Superhero Polar Plunge 2025. We Plunged in support of the incredible Special Olympics athletes across the State. We jumped to support the incredible and longstanding partnership that the Law Enforcement community and Special Olympics Montana have. The spirit and positive attitude that the athletes involved with Special Olympics bring is truly amazing.

We at the Rocky Boy Police Department are pleased to announce that we will be hosting the Shop with a Cop event again this year. Last year was a tremendous success and we are looking forward to another successful event.

We could not have done this without the many generous donations that we received from local businesses, individuals and the various tribal programs.

We would like to extend our welcome to any one who hasn't donated and would like to this year. Questions regarding your donation can be directed to Jeremy Jones at the Police Department; 406-395-4513.

Thank you and Happy Holidays!!

On Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 1708 hours, RBPD was assisting Border Patrol Agents in following up on information that workers at construction site in Rocky Boy were not here legally. Border Patrol Agents attempted to make contact with them to verify their information. They would not stop for Border Patrol agents and an RBPD Officer conducted a traffic stop on a truck on Upper Box Elder Road. Two Mexican males ran from the stop into a field. Border Patrol Agents chased them on foot, but were unable to catch up with them before the reached the thick brush in the Lower Box Elder Road area. Multiple Border Patrol Agents, RBPD Officers, and Choteau County Deputies surrounded the area, then searched the brush area on foot and drones were utilized.

Residents in Lower Road area near the search were made aware of the incident.

Unfortunately the males were not located and at approximately 2100 hours, Border Patrol called off the search. One male was wearing a red shirt, the other was wearing a blue shirt, and both were wearing blue jeans. Their identity is unknown at this time. Both males were approximately 5'5" and 150 lbs.

Neither male had a weapon and there is no reason to believe there is any immediate danger to the public, however, all Lower Road residents are still advised to lock their doors and windows.

Officers will be patrolling the Lower Road area throughout the night.

If anyone sees these males or has information on their whereabouts, contact RBPD (406-395-4513).
