The Town of Boxford is now accepting applications for our next Assistant Town Administrator / Finance Director.

Over the last several years, Boxford has made significant investments in modernizing operations, strengthening long-range planning, and improving how local government delivers services to residents. The creation and continued evolution of this position has been a major part of that effort.

This is a unique opportunity for someone with municipal government experience, curiosity, strong problem-solving skills, and an interest in playing a meaningful leadership role within a collaborative and forward-thinking organization.

The Assistant Town Administrator / Finance Director serves as a key member of the Town’s executive leadership and finance teams and is involved in a wide range of municipal operations, financial management, strategic initiatives, capital planning, organizational projects, and operational modernization efforts.

Over the past several years, Boxford has:
✔ Maintained the Town’s AAA bond rating
✔ Earned Boxford’s first-ever GFOA Distinguished Budget Presentation Award
✔ Advanced major infrastructure and operational initiatives
✔ Continued to modernize financial management and municipal operations

What makes this role unique is the combination of broad exposure to municipal leadership and the financial backbone of local government. This is not simply a traditional finance position focused only on numbers and accounting. The role is deeply involved in projects, organizational planning, operations, budgeting, and collaborative problem-solving across departments.

The Town is seeking someone who is hands-on, collaborative, motivated, and committed to good governance and high-quality public service.
