Please note that we have transitioned to North Shore Regional 911 Center. Our emergency response is not impacted by this transition. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns directly to the fire chief.

The Town of Boxford has officially transitioned emergency dispatch services to the North Shore Regional 911 Center (NSR911) as of May 19 at 10:00 AM.
Residents should continue to dial 911 for emergencies—there are no changes to police, fire, EMS services, or non-emergency numbers. You’ll still be served by the same Boxford public safety personnel.

The Police Station lobby remains open 24/7, with an intercom available when staff are not present.

This move enhances regional coordination and long-term sustainability while maintaining local response services.

Town officials emphasized that the transition was not a reflection of the professionalism or performance of the Communications Department staff.
“Boxford has benefited from an exceptionally dedicated and professional dispatch team over many years,” said Town Administrator Matt Coogan. “Their institutional knowledge, professionalism, and commitment to public safety have been deeply appreciated by the Town, our residents, and our public safety personnel.”

The Town would like to thank Communications Director Warren Gould and the Communications Department staff for their years of dedicated service to the Boxford community, as well as the many Police, Fire, Communications, Town Hall, and NSR911 personnel who contributed to the successful transition process.
