Our Compass keeps pointing to GREATNESS!

The MCPS Compass of Greatness recognitions have been rolling in, and we have a lot of greatness to celebrate!

This latest group of honorees represents employees from across MCPS who were nominated by their colleagues for the ways they make a difference every day.

Some were recognized for going above and beyond for students. Others for being the coworker who always steps in, solves the problem, lends a hand, offers encouragement, or simply makes the day a little better for everyone around them.

That is exactly what the Compass of Greatness is about: giving our employees the opportunity to recognize the great work they see happening around them.

Congratulations to all of our newest Compass of Greatness honorees!

And keep those nominations coming. If you see greatness happening in MCPS, recognize it.

See greatness. Recognize greatness. Keep MCPS moving forward.

Munch & Pinkie are excellent educators.

Caring for these two orphan goats means regular exercise, lots of attention and plenty of hands-on care. More importantly, they give our students a real-world look at the responsibility, compassion and commitment that come with animal agriculture. That’s what FFA and agricultural education are all about: learning by doing.

The Compass is still pointing to GREATNESS!

Day 2 of our MCPS Compass of Greatness recognition is here, and today’s nominations are another reminder of just how much incredible work happens across our division every day.

These recognitions come directly from fellow MCPS employees who took the time to shine a light on a colleague making a difference. From stepping in when help is needed and supporting students, to encouraging coworkers, solving problems, leading with kindness, and simply being someone others can count on, greatness shows up in a lot of different ways.

Congratulations to our Day 2 Compass of Greatness honorees! Your coworkers see what you do, they appreciate it, and they believe it deserves to be recognized.

And we’re not finished yet. Keep recognizing the people who make MCPS better!

See greatness. Recognize greatness. Keep MCPS moving forward.

Sometimes supporting agricultural education means meetings, lesson plans and competitions.

And sometimes it means taking two orphan goat babies for their daily walk around the high school.

Introducing the MCPS Compass of Greatness

Great work happens across MCPS every single day, and sometimes the people making the biggest difference are the ones working quietly behind the scenes.

The Compass of Greatness is a new employee recognition initiative that gives MCPS employees the opportunity to recognize fellow employees for the great work they are doing, the difference they are making, and the ways they help move MCPS forward.

Today, we are excited to recognize our newest Compass of Greatness honorees!

Each recognition represents something worth celebrating: a helping hand, extra effort, outstanding service, teamwork, leadership, kindness, or simply someone who consistently goes above and beyond.

Congratulations to today’s honorees, and thank you for helping point MCPS in the direction of GREATNESS.
