๐Ÿš”๐Ÿ’™ **Attention Boylston Community and Beyond** ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿš”

Your support, love, and dedication to our department and our officers has never gone unnoticed or unappreciated.

Today, we are reaching out to share that one of our beloved officers and his family are facing an incredibly difficult challenge. In the coming weeks, we will be conducting several fundraisers to help ease the financial burden they are experiencing as they navigate the road ahead.

Below is a message from Sergeant Thomas regarding his wife, Sherrie:

*"We've been keeping a low profile lately because, honestly, we needed time to process everything and inform our immediate family members.*

*After meeting with doctors in Worcester, Dana-Farber, and Brigham and Women's Hospital, we learned that surgery is no longer an option for Sherrie's cancer. In fact, the only treatment available at this point is palliative care. The cancer has progressed too rapidlyโ€”growing to 6 cm in just six monthsโ€”and is attached to too many vital structures in her neck to be safely removed.*

*This news has been incredibly difficult to comprehend. Sherrie has been dealt so many difficult hands throughout this journey, yet she continues to fight with strength, determination, and a smile on her face. While the outlook is devastating, we are not giving up hope. We pray every day, every moment, and every breath that she will once again defy the odds.*

*She will be undergoing chemotherapy and immunotherapy with the hope of slowing the tumor's growth and, God willing, shrinking it enough to give doctors renewed hope. In a few months, another scan will be performed. We pray that tumor is reduced to nothing more than a tiny blip on the screen.*

*Through the pain, uncertainty, and fear, Sherrie has remained resilient and committed to fighting. She is truly amazing. Although she is currently out of work, her incredible coworkers have continued to check in, send thoughtful gifts, and stand beside her in this battle. Their support means more than we can ever express.*

*Our children were devastated by the news, but they have rallied around their mother just as they always have. They are committed to helping her in every way possible and continue to pray for her recovery. They are warriors.*

*As for me, I'm processing, researching, questioning, and fighting right alongside her. I'm still in shock and refuse to accept the fate that's been handed to her. I refuse to back down, and I refuse to give up. She's in this fight, and so am I.*

*My coworkers have also been incredibly supportive and caring. You know who you are, and I cannot thank you enough. Your support means the world to me.*

*Thank you all for your love, support, and prayers. You mean the world to us, and together we will weather this latest storm."*

One of our union members has designed a special ** ** t-shirt in support of the Thomas family. The shirt will be available for purchase for one month, and **all proceeds will directly benefit the Thomas family**. Once the ordering window closes, shirts will be available for pickup or shipping.

From all of us at the Boylston Police Department, thank you for any support, prayers, or contributions you are able to provide. Every gesture, no matter the size, means more than words can express.

๐Ÿ’™ **Please keep Sherrie, Sergeant Thomas, and their family in your thoughts and prayers.**

During this National Law Enforcement Week, we pause to recognize the brave men and women in law enforcement who serve our communities with courage, professionalism, and compassion every single day.

This week is a time to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and to thank the officers who continue to answer the call, day and night, often without recognition or fanfare.
To the Officers who dedicate their lives to protecting others: thank you for your service, your integrity, and your commitment to keeping our communities safe.

Please join us this week in showing appreciation for all law enforcement professionals who serve with honor

On behalf of the Boylston Police Officers Union, we extend our thoughts and prayers to the family, friends, and colleagues of the Massachusetts State Police Trooper who was tragically killed last night by a wrong-way driver.

This is an incredibly difficult time for the law enforcement community and all those affected. Incidents like this are a reminder of the risks officers face every day in service to others. We ask that you keep this trooperโ€™s loved ones in your thoughts during this heartbreaking time.

This week is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week and we want to honor the voices behind the badge.

Our dispatchers are the calm in the chaos, the steady voice on the other end of the line during someoneโ€™s worst day. They are the first first-responders, providing critical information, lifesaving instructions, and reassurance when it matters most.

Every call they answer makes a difference. Every decision they make helps keep our officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, and community members safe.

Please join us in thanking our incredible telecommunicators for their dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to public safety. ๐Ÿ’™ Boylston Dispatchers' Union

๐Ÿš”๐Ÿ’™ Thank You, Boylston Highway Department! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿšง

The Boylston Police Officers Union would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Boylston Highway Department for their continued hard work and dedication to our community.

Whether itโ€™s maintaining our roadways, responding during storms, assisting with traffic safety concerns, or supporting town events, your teamwork and commitment do not go unnoticed. Your efforts help keep our residents safe and our town running smoothly every day.

We are grateful for the strong partnership we share and for everything you do behind the scenes โ€” and in all weather conditions โ€” to serve the Town of Boylston.

Thank you for your professionalism, reliability, and service to our community!

If you're able to, please consider adopting a hydrant during and after the big winter storm. Shovel a path to the street and clear the snow for three feet in all directions. This is especially helpful in those areas where plows pile it up along the roadway, and it can save precious minutes in an emergency.
