Charlevoix County Road Commission is accepting applications for an experienced Certified Heavy-Duty Truck Master Mechanic.
Applicants must hold or be able to obtain a Class “A” CDL with Air Brake endorsement.
Applicants shall be required to take a road test in a Road Commission supplied vehicle and have a clean driving record with ability to pass drug test.
Starting rate $26.62/hour plus benefits, including pension and employer funded health care on day-one. Additional hourly pay increments for additional State Certifications.

Applications will be accepted until position is filled at Charlevoix County Road Commission office, 1251 Boyne Avenue, Boyne City, MI 49712 until positions are filled. Application forms are available at the Boyne City office or online

Seasonal Weight Restrictions UPDATE for Northwest Michigan:
The following County Road Commissions- Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Emmet, Grand Traverse, Lake, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaukee, Osceola, Otsego, Roscommon, and Wexford; have been carefully watching the forecast and weighing whether to implement Seasonal Weight and Speed reductions on County Roads under their jurisdiction. With careful consideration, we have decided to hold off on implementing restrictions at this time. The substantial change in the cooling of the forecast has made this possible. So, each county will continue to monitor the forecast, as well as road conditions. It needs to be understood that a change in the forecast or road conditions may trigger implementation of restrictions with limited advance notice. In order to make this possible, we ask the trucking industry to evaluate the road conditions and if they notice signs of thawing, they should cease operations until the weather cools back down. Through everyone's cooperation, we will be able to do this. As it is our responsibility to protect the roads, we will have to do that if we feel the need arises.

Please note at least one day next week, Thumb Lake Road from Slashing Road west to the Otesgo County Line will be closed for debris clean up. Slashing, Chandler Hill and Magee Roads will be open as a detour route. We apologize for any inconvenience, hopefully it will be only one day.

NOW HIRING - EXPERIENCED TRUCK DRIVERS
Charlevoix County Road Commission will accept applications for up to two (2) Truck Driver/Road Maintenance Workers for their Boyne City garage.
Applicants should be experienced in Construction and Utility Work, and shall possess a Class “A” or “B” CDL with Air Brake and Tanker endorsements.
Applicants shall be required to take a road test in a Road Commission supplied vehicle. Must have clean driving record with ability to pass drug test.
Starting rate $25.00/hour plus benefits.
Applications shall be received at the Charlevoix County Road Commission office, 1251 Boyne Avenue, Boyne City, MI 49712 until 3:00pm Monday, February 24, 2025.
