Members of the Boynton Beach Police Department’s Emergency Field Force (EFF) Team recently traveled to Santa Rosa County to support the Milton Police Department and assist with recovery efforts following Hurricane Isaias.

Throughout the deployment, our officers worked alongside local law enforcement to clear storm debris, help affected families and businesses, and provide support to the Milton Police Department as the community worked toward recovery.

We’re proud of our EFF Team for answering the call, lending a helping hand, and demonstrating that our commitment to serving others extends well beyond the borders of Boynton Beach. 💙

The Boynton Beach Police Department has made a third arrest in connection with the August 8 homicide of 19-year-old Nigel Beckford.

On October 15, a 17-year-old Boynton Beach juvenile was arrested by the United States Marshals Service and charged with accessory after the fact to a capital felony, a first-degree felony. The juvenile was transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center.

This is the third arrest in the ongoing investigation. Previously, 17-year-old Jamill Jean-Baptiste of Lantana was arrested and charged with First-Degree Murder with a Fi***rm. Seventeen-year-old Sebastian Abdul Miller was also arrested and charged with First-Degree Murder with a Fi***rm and Discharging a Fi***rm from a Vehicle.

BBPD Major Case Detectives continue to investigate this homicide.

Now part of the Boynton Beach Police Department, our Code Enforcement Officers play an essential role in protecting the quality of life in our city. Through education, enforcement, and community partnerships, they help maintain neighborhood standards, address community concerns, and make Boynton Beach a better place to live, work, and visit.

Their work often happens behind the scenes, but the impact they make is seen and felt throughout our community every day.

Today, members of the Boynton Beach Police Department Honor Guard had the solemn honor of attending the memorial service for Brevard County Sheriff's Office, Florida (Official) Agent Kevin Morris, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty while responding to an officer-involved shooting.

Agent Morris dedicated 16 years to law enforcement, serving with the Palm Bay Police Department and most recently as a Homicide Agent with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

Beyond his badge, he was a devoted son,
husband, father, grandfather, coach, and friend. A man of strong faith, he was a mentor to many and leaves behind a lasting legacy of service and dedication.

Our hearts are with Agent Morris’ family, friends, and the entire Brevard County Sheriff’s Office during this difficult time.

Rest in peace, Agent Morris. Your service and sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🖤💙🖤

We’re proud to recognize BBPD Officer Rivera for her compassion, dedication, and commitment to helping someone in need.

After weeks of unsuccessful efforts to secure shelter for a loved one experiencing homelessness, a family reached out to express their heartfelt gratitude for Officer Rivera’s assistance in helping secure a safe place to stay.

In their message, they shared:

“I believe that angels exist to comfort those who may feel unlovable… you are the ‘angel’ in his life!”

Officer Rivera’s actions are a powerful reminder that police work is about more than enforcing laws. It’s about serving others, showing compassion, and making a meaningful difference in someone’s life.

Thank you, Officer Rivera, for going above and beyond and demonstrating what it truly means to serve our community! 💙

UPDATE: Edith has been found and is safe.

The Boynton Beach Police Department is asking the public for information about a missing and endangered woman who was last seen around 2 p.m., Friday, October 16 near Boynton Bay Court. Edith Darius is 71-years-old, 5-foot-4, 130 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing a white shirt with black dots, a green/blue skirt and black sandals. Darius only speaks Creole and suffers from memory loss.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Boynton Beach Police by calling Dispatch Non-Emergency at 561-732-8116.

What began as a traffic stop for speeding led to the arrest of a juvenile and the recovery of a fi***rm, drugs, and va**ng products.

BBPD Officer Gassant initiated the stop after observing a vehicle traveling 55 mph in a 30 mph zone. During the investigation, the following items were discovered in the juvenile’s possession:

• A loaded G***k 19 handgun, reported lost out of West Palm Beach
• 298 grams of ma*****na
• 20 grams of psilocybin mushrooms
• 241 THC cartridges and 29 ni****ne vapes
• A scale, glass b**g, and plastic baggies
• Nearly $2,600 in cash

The juvenile was arrested and charged with possession of a fi***rm during the commission of a felony, possession of a fi***rm by a minor, possession with intent to sell ma*****na, psilocybin, and a controlled substance, and possession of ni****ne by a minor.

The juvenile was also cited for speeding and transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center.

Great work by Officer Gassant, whose proactive policing helped remove these items from our streets and keep our community safer!

Today, members of our Traffic Unit and Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) joined the Braille Club of Palm Beach County for White Cane Safety Awareness Day! 🤍🦯

Our officers assisted Braille Club members as they safely crossed the intersection of Federal Highway and Woolbright Road, helping raise awareness about pedestrian safety and accessibility.

White Cane Safety Awareness Day celebrates the independence and achievements of individuals who are blind or visually impaired while reminding drivers of the importance of staying alert and sharing the road.
