Tonight, the City of Boynton Beach, Government shines a little brighter 💛

In honor of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, our iconic water tower is lit yellow as a symbol of appreciation and support for our 911 dispatchers—the calm voices in the chaos, the unseen heroes behind every call for help.

Day in and day out, they answer the call—providing lifesaving guidance, coordinating emergency response, and serving as the critical link between our community and first responders.

This light is more than a tribute—it’s a thank you.

We see you. We appreciate you. And we are grateful for everything you do.

This week, we recognize the voices behind the headset—our public safety telecommunicators.

Calm under pressure and focused when it matters most, they are the critical link between our community and emergency response. Every call, every detail, every second—they are there.

Thank you for your professionalism, dedication and service to the Boynton Beach community. 🖤💛🖤

This morning, the Boynton Beach Fire Rescue Department proudly welcomed its new custom-built ladder truck with a traditional Push-In Ceremony.

Surrounded by community members, BBFR officially retired Ladder Truck #4 into reserve status before conducting a ceremonial wet-down and blessing. Firefighters then carried on the time-honored tradition dating back to the 1800s—pushing the new apparatus into the bay, symbolizing its official start in service and honoring the legacy of those who came before.

In a special tribute, the new engine was marked with the number 158 in honor of Firefighter/Operator Joe Nardi, whose ID number is 158 and who will be retiring this November. Firefighter Nardi was instrumental in bringing this new apparatus to life, and today’s dedication stands as a lasting recognition of his commitment, leadership, and service to our department and community.

Here’s to honoring tradition, celebrating progress, and recognizing the dedicated men and women who keep our city safe—today and always. ❤️

The Boynton Beach Fire Rescue Department and the Boynton Beach Police Department are continuing to monitor a potentially record-breaking cold snap expected to impact our area this weekend and into early next week.

Marine conditions are forecast to become extremely hazardous from Sunday through Monday as the cold front moves through. Increasing winds and building seas may create dangerous rip currents and rapidly changing water conditions.

These impacts include Oceanfront Park Beach and the surrounding waterways throughout the Boynton Beach community. Beachgoers and boaters are urged to use extreme caution in and around all bodies of water during this time.

Residents are encouraged to continue monitoring updates from the Palm Beach County Division of Emergency Management regarding shelter availability and warming centers.

This week BBFR and BBPD teamed up to give the kids at Forest Park Elementary a big send-off to winter break! ❄️

Firefighters and police officers gave students a hands-on look at life as a first responder—and surprised them with toys from our recent toy drives. 🎁

The holiday spirit didn’t stop there—BBFR also stopped by Kings Learning Center to drop off toys and spread some extra cheer.
