Thank you to neighbor NJ for letting me know that the developer is moving forward on clearing out their part of the forest.
So it is time to once again step up and put pressure on the county commission to stop this development, hinder their progress, and demand protections for the neighborhood, the forest, and the animals.
1--If you aren't aware, one of the partners at the law firm representing the developers is the husband of county commissioner Maria Sachs. Serious conflict of interest that needs to be monitored by all..........and shared so that all are aware of this should any aspect of this development go in front of the county commissioners for a vote.
2--Anyone who can needs to start attending county commission planning meetings and to monitor, speak against, and report to all the rest of us what is going on.
3--Please email the county commissioners and ask them to stop this project, but if they have to move forward, 1--demand that the developer relocate the animals NOT kill them and pay the fine, 2--put a fence up between their property and the city of Boynton's parcel to help keep the animals on the city's safe side, 3--put strong limits on the noise that can be made and the hours said noise can be allowed - demand no noise before 8 or 9 am and nothing after 5pm, 4--put strong limits on the size and weight of trucks allowed down Quentin for debris removal and construction, 5--prohibit the developer from driving on the right-of-way by the canal to access their property - that is adversely impacting the animals water access (river otters that live on the edge of the forest) and the tortoises walking area, 6--demand hefty fines for violations of any of these offenses. 7--insist that the county demand the developer hire experts to monitor the status of the animals in the forest. Protect the tortoises! And verify the presence of FL Scrub Jays and FL Bonneted Bats - both on the endangered list and could stop construction!! Your goal needs to be making this construction as difficult and expensive as possible to hinder the developer and save the animals. Fight this hard. Please. And please get all your friends on board with helping.

5--Please reach out to the city manager for Boynton Beach, Dan Dugger, and ask him to demand the county force the developer to put up a fence to keep the animals on the city side to protect them, and keep the developers from dumping their construction trash on the city side. [email protected]
