Reminder ⏰ – Special Purpose District candidate filing period will close at 5 p.m. this Wednesday, February 4th‼️

With the passage of HB207, there is no additional time for candidates to file as a write-in. So don’t forget to get your filings into our office! ⌛

There is no candidate filing fee for filing to serve on any of the county’s special district boards including Rural Fire, Water & Sewer, Hospital or Resort Area Districts. All we need is your candidate filing form, which can now be submitted through our online filing portal. 📩

Any remaining open positions will have to be appointed following the May 5, 2026, School and Special Purpose District Election.

Our office is excited to announce its new online candidate filing portal for candidates who wish to file online! 📣 📣🗎

Positions available for filing will be posted on our new online portal onboardgov.gallatinmt.gov at the start of the candidate filing period. Upcoming filing periods are:
• Special Purpose Districts – January 20th to February 4th
• County Offices (including Soil Conservation) – February 17th to March 4th

Note: School Trustee candidate filing period is now open until February 9th and candidates may file with their respective school offices. 🎓

Candidate filing forms sent by mail or dropped off in person will still be accepted. 📨
