🚨S.O.S🚨Gallatin 4-H Seeking Community Members to be Project Interview Judges

Gallatin County 4-H is seeking Judges to conduct interviews with 4-H youth exhibiting at the 2026 Big Sky Country State Fair. This is a great chance for the youth to share their knowledge, practice interviewing, reflect on their experiences, and present themselves and their accomplishments to a caring adult. We would like the judges to have some subject knowledge of the projects that they will be judging. We will have a short judge’s orientation before each shift to go over the judging rubrics and what to look for when conducting the interviews.

We are in need of interview judges on for Livestock/Small Animal and Horse projects on Thursday, July 9th and Friday, July 10th. Additionally, we are looking for judges for 4-H Indoor (static) Project exhibits on Sunday, July 12th. Indoor Project Judges will review and score project exhibits and evaluate their interview skills during this time.

If interested, please fill out the Google Form: https://forms.gle/ye8oTYrFBgGBrFnW6 by June 26th indicating what time and project area(s) you would be comfortable judging.

Gallatin County 4-H thanks you for donating your time to make an impact on the youth members in our 4-H program. To show our appreciation, we will provide you with an admission ticket to the Big Sky Country State Fair that can be used on any day from July 15th through July 19th.

If you have any questions, please contact Molly Yurdana at [email protected]

πŸ€ Learn by Doing πŸ„πŸ–πŸ‘πŸπŸ‡πŸ“πŸ΄πŸ•

Gallatin County 4-H hosted our first-ever Round Robin Bootcamp today, and 45 youth members of all experience levels joined us for an afternoon of hands-on learning.

Participants rotated through 10 species stations, building their showmanship skills, animal knowledge, and confidence. This all-species workshop was designed to help youth prepare for the Round Robin Master Showmanship Competition by providing exposure to each species and to practice handling, showing, and answering judge questions.

Members embraced the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones and challenge themselves. A huge thank you to our volunteers, alumni, and senior-level members who served as instructors and provided animals. Your time, animals, and expertise created an incredible learning experience that made this event possible!

Montana 4‑H is seeking several host families before July 1 to welcome international youth this summer. Hosting is a simple and meaningful way to share Montana life while giving a young person an unforgettable cultural experience.🌏

Delegates from Japan will be in Montana from July 22 to August 17. Families with a child of the same gender and within four years of age can host, and families without children may host an adult chaperone. No special activities are required, just everyday Montana living! πŸ’š
