Hazmat 420 was requested by 4046 to assist with a tanker rollover with diesel fuel spilled on Route 28 Southbound near the Etna interchange. Crews worked for over 5 hours securing 3 domes on the tanker, providing fluid containment, and onsite resources for the cleanup contractor during a hot tap of the tanker to pump off the remaining product.

Training night reminder. This Wednesday 9/8, we will have training at Pioneer Hose starting at 1830.

Local FD’s:

Co 420 will be hosting a HazMat Ops Refresher training Saturday September 25, 2021 from 0900 to 1500 and lunch will be served at 1300. Please RSVP to make sure we order enough lunch. We encourage all local FD’s to have members attend. This Ops Refresher is mandatory annually for FD members, so why not come learn with the HazMat team and conduct some realistic drills and learn about meters and monitoring.

Co 420 members will be taking a break from training this evening and enjoying a cook your own steak dinner with a baked potatoe bar and some other fixins’ and having our annual Company meeting.

Great night of training with Co 112 and ACES staff on the deployment of our new Zumro decontamination line and their new decontamination tent. Together we can provide support to other communities and/or anyone in the Region 13 Task Force area.
