The Montalvo House

The Montalvo House Recorded Texas Historic Landmark 3440 was constructed in 1887 by Ildefonso and Guadalupe Montalvo.

The Montalvo House is utilizing the restoration of Recorded Texas Historic Landmark 3440 as an educational springboard in two primary areas: sustainable building methodologies, and sustainable agriculture. The home is of historic architectural significance as it is constructed of cedar posts and caliche/lime plaster. At the center of the property lies a still viable hand-built rock well that was t

he public water well at the time the home was constructed. Site of a farm-to-table organic market, this historic site is fun to visit and learn from.
