Our Heart & Soles 5K Planning Team recently visited Tom Bennett Park, the future home of our inaugural Heart & Soles 5K Charity Fundraiser benefiting the Junior League of Manatee County.

From reviewing the course layout to brainstorming race-day experiences, we’re hard at work creating a fun, family-friendly event that will bring our community together while supporting JLMC’s mission.

🍎 Introducing Feed the Need with JLMC 🍎

The Junior League of Manatee County is proud to launch a new community impact initiative focused on helping address food insecurity right here in Manatee County.

Beginning this fall, JLMC members will host monthly food drives supporting local food pantries serving families in need. Each month, we’ll partner with a different organization to help stock shelves, raise awareness, and bring our community together for a common cause.

Food insecurity affects thousands of our neighbors, but together, we can make a difference—one donation, one pantry, and one family at a time.

Created by The Junior League, International Find the Good Day is dedicated to celebrating the good we create in our communities. It’s more than a day—it’s a movement rooted in kindness, service, and positive change.

This year, the Junior League of Manatee County is inviting our members to join us in Spreading The Good on September 17.

Your act of kindness can be as simple or as impactful as you’d like:
☕ Organize coffee for school staff
🚒 Deliver a meal to a local fire station
👕 Donate clothing to a local nonprofit
💐 Surprise someone with flowers
💌 Write a heartfelt note of encouragement
🤝 Volunteer your time in the community

Every act of kindness matters.

Making a difference takes many forms—and this year, we’re excited to do it through four incredible Fund Development projects that will help support Junior League of Manatee County’s mission and community impact programs.

These events will bring our members, supporters, sponsors, and community together to create meaningful impact throughout Manatee County while having fun along the way.

We’re especially excited to introduce our new Mahjong Tournament and 5K fundraiser and continue growing the events our community has come to know and love. From raising awareness and funds to building connections and creating memorable experiences, this year’s lineup is sure to make a difference.

What an incredible way to kick off the Junior League of Manatee County’s 2026-2027 League Year!

From reconnecting with familiar faces to welcoming new members, the energy and excitement in the room made it clear that this is going to be a year full of impact, leadership, and community.

Members had the opportunity to explore volunteer and leadership opportunities, learn about updates for the year ahead, browse some JLMC swag, connect with project teams, and discover new ways to make the most of their League experience.

A special thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, and helped make the evening a success. We are excited to see so many women ready to invest in our mission, serve our community, and grow together.
