We’re proud of our own Lt. Cameron Frazier, who is currently deployed to Texas assisting with wildfire response efforts.

Two Manatee County firefighters have been deployed to North Texas to assist with the ongoing response to the Ross Fire, which is one of the largest wildfires in North Texas history.

🔥 Fire Extinguisher Training at WMFR Headquarters 🧯

West Manatee Fire Rescue recently welcomed staff members of the Key Royale Club to our headquarters for fire safety and hands-on fire extinguisher training.

During the training, we covered the R.A.C.E. procedure for responding to a fire emergency:

R – Rescue
A – Alarm
C – Contain
E – Extinguish

We also reviewed the P.A.S.S. method for properly operating a fire extinguisher:

P – Pull the pin
A – Aim at the base of the fire
S – Squeeze the handle
S – Sweep from side to side

Participants then had the opportunity to put what they learned into practice with hands-on fire extinguisher training.

☀️ A little sunshine, a little safety, and a whole lot of Florida heat!

West Manatee Fire Rescue spent some time at Robinson Preserve handing out cold water, sunglasses, and sunscreen while talking with visitors about staying safe when temperatures climb.

Whether you’re walking the trails, riding a bike, or just enjoying the view, remember to drink plenty of water, take breaks, protect yourself from the sun, and know the signs of heat-related illness.

We loved getting outside and meeting everyone—and helping make a beautiful day at Robinson Preserve a little safer! 😎💧🌴

📚🚒 Back to School 🚒📚

As students across our community head back to the classroom, West Manatee Fire Rescue wishes everyone a safe, happy, and successful school year!

With buses back on the roads and more children walking and biking to school, please slow down, stay alert, and give yourself a little extra time on your morning commute.

As another school year begins, West Manatee Fire Rescue was proud to be part of the Bradenton Elks Back to School Bash!

Our team, including Commissioner Derrick Warner, firefighters, prevention staff, and everyone’s favorite therapy dog, Walker, enjoyed spending the day connecting with families, sharing safety information, and helping kids get excited for the new school year.

The event was incredibly well attended and a tremendous success, providing school supplies, resources, and support to countless families as they prepare for the first day of school. We’re grateful to the Bradenton Elks Lodge for hosting such a meaningful event and for bringing so many community partners together to make a positive difference.

We wish all of our students, teachers, and families a safe, successful, and wonderful school year!
