Dearborn, Michigan, RENAME it "Henry Ford. Michigan" Dearborn, Michigan is the birthplace of the most important man in the 20th century. Yet, that town is named after an unremarkable general of war of 1812.

General Henry Dearborn, M.D. never set foot in Dearborn. Michigan. Although a patriot of distinction in the Revolutionary War his image was tarnished by an ineffective service to the Army in the War of 1812 and had much to do with losing Detroit to the British without even a shot being fired. HENRY FORD, however, a native son and long-time resident of "Dearborn," change the very fabric of the Twen

tieth Century and yet here we have the birthplace of Henry Ford named for a general that never set foot in the place. It is time to honor our native son, Henry Ford. He was not a perfect man - who is? he was an anti-Semite. He hired blacks but would not let them live in the city. He seemed to agree with Hi**er on many issues and yet his Willow Run plant produced the most damaging aircraft to see WWII, the B-24 Liberator that brought Germany to its knees. Still, he might be the most important man of the 20th century and was born and raised right here. "Dearborn" deserves to be recognized for the importance of the birthplace and residence of Henry Ford. Henry Ford, Michigan...it stands for something! Additionally, it does no harm to recognize the founder of the most important company in the city - a company that has given so much to our city
