π Calling All Lakewood Ranch High School Students! π
We are excited to announce that the School District of Manatee County has been selected as one of only 20 school districts statewide to participate in the Florida Student Service Challenge!
The Florida Department of Education, in partnership with the Florida Lottery, is launching this exciting initiative to promote student leadership, civic responsibility, and community engagement.
π Earn $500 for Giving Back! π
Up to 40 Manatee County public high school students who successfully complete the challenge requirements will receive a $500 award, funded through the Florida Lottery and administered by the Manatee Education Foundation.
Challenge Dates
September 7 β October 5, 2026
To Qualify, Students Must:
β’ Complete 20 or more documented community service hours during the challenge period
β’ Submit a student leadership essay addressing civic responsibility and leadership, based on FDOE guidelines
β’ Meet all district and state documentation requirements by October 5, 2026
Service opportunities may include:
- Food pantry support
- Hurricane preparedness efforts
- Environmental cleanups
- Community events
- Tutoring and mentoring
- Other approved volunteer activities
