For Immediate Release*
On Sunday, December 28, 2025, the Bradley Fire Department was dispatched to the 100 block of S. Center Ave. for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival, crews found heavy fire in the basement of a single-story residence. The initial crews on the scene worked quickly to control the fire and limit the spread to the rest of the home, but were met with challenges due to the weather and the large amount of contents within the location.
After an extended fire attack, and with the assistance of local auto-aid and mutual-aid departments, crews were able extinguish the fire and bring the scene under control. All occupants were able to safely evacuate the home, and no injuries were reported by either the residents or first responders on scene.
The fire caused significant damage to the residence, and the family has been displaced as a result of the incident.
The Bradley Fire Department would like to thank all of the assisting agencies for their support and hard work, including Bourbonnais Fire Protection District, Kankakee Fire Department, Manteno Fire Protection District, Aroma Fire Protection District, Braidwood Fire Department, Limestone Fire Protection District, Momence Fire Protection District, and Grant Park Fire Protection District.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
