SCAM WARNING 🚨

A new online scam is making the rounds and we want our community to stay informed. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) does NOT send out summons or demand payment for traffic violations through text messages or emails.

If you receive a suspicious message about unpaid tickets or threats involving your driver’s license, do not click any links or provide personal information.

To safely review your Minnesota driving record or verify information, use the official Minnesota DVS website only:

Please help spread the word and protect friends and family from scams. When in doubt, contact your local law enforcement agency directly.

Summer is here, bringing road trips, lake weekends, family vacations, and more time spent on Minnesota roads. But with the busy summer travel season comes an increase in serious crashes, which is why law enforcement agencies across the state will be increasing traffic enforcement throughout the “100 Deadliest Days” between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Officers will be focusing on the “Big 4” driving behaviors that contribute to the majority of serious crashes:
🚨 Speeding
📱 Distracted Driving
🍺 Impaired Driving
🔒 Not Wearing a Seat Belt

It’s easy to go on autopilot during everyday drives, but one bad decision behind the wheel can change lives forever. Last summer, 111 people lost their lives on Minnesota roads during this time period and many of those tragedies were preventable.

Of those fatalities:
• 37 involved alcohol
• 31 involved speeding
• 16 involved unbelted occupants
• 5 involved distracted driving

Choosing to buckle up, slow down, stay focused, and drive sober helps protect not only you, but everyone sharing the road. Let’s work together to make this a safe summer for all.

Summer is coming and that means more road trips, more traffic, and more time behind the wheel. Before you head out, take a few extra minutes to make safety a priority.

🚗 Buckle up every trip, every time
👶 Never leave children unattended in a vehicle, not even for a second
📵 Stay alert and avoid distractions while driving
🍺 Plan ahead, buzzed driving is drunk driving
🌧 Slow down on wet roads and increase following distance
🛠 Check your tires, fluids, lights, and emergency kit before traveling
🚧 Watch for construction zones and changing road conditions
🌊 Remember: Turn Around, Don’t Drown during flooded roadways

Summer driving should end with everyone arriving safely home. Let’s work together to keep Minnesota roads safe all season long.

Stay Safe Braham!

🚔 Seat belts save lives! The Click It or Ticket campaign is underway, and law enforcement agencies across Minnesota will be working to keep our roads safe through increased seat belt enforcement.

Whether you’re headed across town or across the state, make sure everyone in your vehicle is buckled up every trip, every time. Your best defense in a crash is wearing your seat belt correctly.

Stay Safe Braham!

This week, we recognize and honor the men and women who serve their communities with courage, professionalism, and compassion during National Police Week.

Law enforcement officers across our country make countless sacrifices each day to protect and serve, often working long hours, responding to difficult situations, and standing ready when others need help most. We also take time to remember and honor those who gave their lives in the line of duty and the families who continue to carry that sacrifice every day.

The Braham Police Department would like to thank all law enforcement professionals, dispatchers, firefighters, EMS personnel, and community partners who work together to keep our communities safe. We are grateful for the continued support from our residents and proud to serve the City of Braham.

Please join us this week in showing appreciation for those who wear the badge and for the families who stand beside them.
