Every year, police officers dedicate time to critical lifesaving training that can make all the difference during an emergency. Annual CPR/AED certification for adults, children, and infants, along with tourniquet training, ensures officers are prepared to respond quickly and effectively when seconds matter most.
This morning, our entire department participated in annual CPR/AED & tourniquet training courtesy of the Braidwood Fire Protection District.
Whether assisting at a medical emergency, traffic crash, community event, or critical incident, these skills allow officers to provide immediate care until EMS arrives. From performing CPR on a cardiac arrest victim, using an AED to help restore a heartbeat, assisting a choking infant, or applying a tourniquet to stop severe bleeding, this training helps save lives in our communities every day.
Continuous hands-on training keeps officers confident, prepared, and ready to respond to emergencies involving people of all ages. We are proud of the commitment our officers make to maintaining these important lifesaving skills and serving our community with professionalism, compassion, and preparedness.
