The Walker Area Lions Club needs your help! We are currently running our Trishaw six or sometimes even seven days a week but we simply do not have enough “pilots” who are willing and able to spend a few hours each week cycling elderly and disabled individuals out on our trails.

Lions will provide training and set up a schedule to accommodate your schedule. If you love to bike and would like to share that with others contact me at (715) 821-1761 and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have and set you up with someone to “train” you and familiarize you with our Trishaw and what we do.

If you have been thinking about this, now is the time. You do not need to be a Lions member although we would be very happy to have you join us! This is an excellent opportunity to keep in shape while helping others.

The Trishaw also has a motor so in the event that the hill is a little steep or the road a little long you can use that as needed.

Meet Walker Brainard. This gentleman is from Denver, CO, and he biked the Paul Bunyan Trail from Walker to Brainerd over Labor Day weekend. In January 2022 he was prompted to Google his name and the search results kept showing our little Minnesota communities and the Paul Bunyan Trail. Even though the spelling of his last name is different than the spelling of our town, they are pronounced the same way. So, he was compelled to buy a bike, start training, and make the trip. His mother, who lives in Oklahoma, met him in Minnesota for this special journey. Walker stopped into Visit Brainerd and shared his story. And he says that he'll be back. ❤🚴‍♂️
