Station 1 Renovation Update: Week 10!

We’ve officially hit the end of Week 10 of the Fire Station 1 renovation project, and the progress is looking incredible!

Here is what the crews have accomplished:
✅ Underground Work Complete: All of the concrete footings and foundations are officially in place, and the site has been successfully backfilled and returned to grade.
✅ Reconstruction Underway: CMU (block) wall construction on the east side of the station has officially begun!
✅ Behind-the-Walls Progress: Significant plumbing rough-in complete and electrical rough-ins are moving forward inside.

Every step gets us closer to a more efficient station to serve our community. Thank you for your continued support as we build for the future!

🧯 Did you know? Long Lake Township has a dedicated fire protection well right at the corner of Paradise Beach Road and CR 22!

This well can supply roughly 350 gallons per minute (gpm), saving our firefighters valuable time when every second counts in an emergency. 🧑‍🚒🚒

To keep everything running smoothly, the fire department tests the well monthly. It’s an innovative, proactive way to keep their neighborhood safe. 💧

Hwy 210 update!!! Next week (May 11-18), the main road construction will begin near the East Brainerd Mall so leave some extra time to get around.

Hwy 210 (Washington St) will be one lane in each direction as crews rebuild the roadway. A temporary signal will be installed at 10th Ave NE and Hwy 25. Truck traffic should follow detour signs around the work zone.
