We had a wonderful time at the Rotary District 7950 Conference this past weekend, connecting with fellow Rotarians and celebrating the impact our clubs make across our communities.
But the moment that touched our hearts the most was seeing Joanne Tully receive the prestigious Percy Hodgson Award.
It is with great honor and privilege that we announce the recipient of the 2025–2026 Dr. Percy Hodgson
Memorial Award: Ms. Joanne Tully of the Rotary Club of Braintree.
Joanne has been an active member of the Rotary Club of Braintree for 21 years. She has significantly contributed to the growth of the Rotary Leadership Institute over the past decade and has supported nearly every District Conference during her tenure, in addition to her numerous leadership roles within her club.
Her exemplary attitude and dedication to leading by example truly embody the Objects of Rotary.
Joanne is a leader both in the Braintree community and beyond. Locally, she has been pivotal in the success of numerous charitable initiatives, including Braintree Beautification Day, Coats for Kids, canned food drives, the Adopt-A-Family Christmas program, the Credit for Life Fair, seniors’ pancake breakfasts,
the Braintree Youth Center, and many others.
Joanne’s most remarkable endeavor is her international project, the Constanza Mission. What began 15 years ago as a clean water initiative in the Dominican Republic has flourished into an annual mission addressing a wide range of needs for this underserved community. Through Joanne’s hard work and commitment, many individuals now have access to clean water, vitamins, basic hygiene products, and dental care.
Anyone who meets Joanne immediately recognizes what a true Rotarian looks like. She leads, inspires, fosters growth, and provides exceptional mentorship—not only to her fellow club members, but to everyone she encounters.
Over her 47-year career at South Shore Bank , she has built a remarkable community of friends and admirers, and none of us would deny it.
CONGRATULATIONS, Joanne Tully and THANK YOU for your continued dedication to our District, Community & Beyond!
