Happy Memorial Day! Today we take a moment to remember and honor the brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives to protect our freedom and serve our country. Let's take a moment to reflect on their courage and selflessness, and express our deepest gratitude to their families and loved ones.

Training where it matters. 🔋🚒

Career and Volunteer members of the Arcola Volunteer Fire Department came together for hands-on battery training focused on safety, response tactics, and operational readiness. Opportunities like this help ensure our members stay prepared for the evolving challenges faced in the fire service.

A big thank you to Captain Lippincott, Captain of Station 9 for putting this together!

The Arcola Volunteer Fire Department was proud to participate in the Joshua Hands Touch-a-Truck event at StoneSprings Hospital Center this past Saturday. We were also happy to be joined by our Loudoun County Combined Fire and Rescue System career staff partners for a great day of community engagement! 🚒

Proud moment for our department 🚑

On April 25th, 2026, our brand new 2025 Ford Explorer Advanced Life Support Chase SUV officially entered service, replacing our longtime 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe Advanced Life Support Chase SUV. We were honored to debut it to the community for the first time at Cars and Coffee on May 3rd.

We look forward to continuing to better serve our community with this new addition to the fleet!

🚫🔥 The Fire Marshal's Office reminds community members and visitors that open burning is prohibited in County and the incorporated Towns of Leesburg, Lovettsville, Middleburg, Purcellville, and Round Hill, between May 1 and September 30, 2026.

These regulations prohibit open air fires or open burning with the following exceptions:

• Campfires, no larger than three feet in diameter by two feet in height and used for cooking purposes, are exempt from these prohibitions, provided they are not within 50 feet of any structure.
• Portable outdoor fireplaces and chimineas are not considered open burning but must be used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and shall not be operated within 15 feet of a structure or combustible material. Single-family, attached and detached, homes are exempt from the distance mandate but are strongly encouraged to follow this fire safe practice.
• On a year-round basis, open burning (including campfires) is always prohibited in the town limits of Lovettsville, Middleburg, Purcellville, Round Hill, and all subdivisions ("urban or built-up areas") throughout the county.

Fire Marshal Disclaimer: The Loudoun County Fire Marshal may impose regulations, at any time, based upon complaint, atmospheric or other environmental circumstances, to restrict or extinguish any fire that is otherwise permitted according to these guidelines.

Violations and Penalty: Any person who violates the fire code could be convicted of a Class 1 misdemeanor, which carries a penalty of a fine up to $2,500 and up to a year in jail. Further, if convicted, a person may be required to compensate the locality for the full cost of fighting a fire.

Questions regarding open burning regulations should be directed to the LCFR Fire Marshal's Office at 703-737-8600 or www.loudoun.gov/openburning.
