The members of the Bramwell Volunteer Fire Department extend our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the Goins family during this difficult time.

Donnie was a great friend to our department. He was always stopping by to check on us and asking if there was anything we needed. His kindness and support meant more than he probably knew, and he will be greatly missed.

Please keep the Goins family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate the days ahead.
May they find comfort in the love and support of those around them, and may they find peace in the many wonderful memories they shared with Donnie.

Firefighter James “Spot” Cleary, Jr., 19
Bramwell Volunteer Fire Department. Bramwell, WV
Father and son, Firefighter James Cleary, Sr. and Firefighter James “Spot” Cleary, Jr., were out on the department owned ATV examining previous accident scenes. While they were out of the vehicle, on foot, the ATV began to roll towards them. They attempted to stop it but it dragged them over a hill and then rolled multiple times. Both firefighters were transported to local hospitals. Firefighter James “Spot” Cleary, Jr. passed away from the injuries he sustained in the accident. Firefighter James Cleary, Sr., has been discharged from the hospital.

Some buildings are just buildings.

This one isn’t.

For generations, Yukon Pentecostal Holiness Church has been a place where children found family, where people found hope, and where neighbors took care of one another when there was nowhere else to turn.

It has kept families warm through hard winters, fed hungry people, welcomed those who felt forgotten. It has celebrated weddings, mourned loved ones, prayed over broken hearts, and watched countless children race up and down the same ramp that now desperately needs repaired… Those little footprints became generations.

Now, after decades of giving to others, the church needs our help.
Time, weather, floods, and years of faithful service have taken their toll. The entrance ramp and steps have become a serious safety concern and without repairs, the future of this church is uncertain.

In one of the poorest counties in West Virginia, there isn’t a wealthy donor waiting in the wings. There isn’t a corporation writing a check…

There are only ordinary people who believe that places like this still matter. So there will be a fundraising BBQ dinner on 07/10 THIS FRIDAY AT 10AM but the orders need to be placed before the 9th so they will know how much to prepare. If theres any left over on the day of, you may be able to request a plate for $7.00.

Every penny of each dinner sold helps fund repairs so this church can continue serving future generations.

If you can’t purchase a dinner but still feel led to help, donations of any amount are deeply appreciated. You can drop off donations at Outlaws and Saints Tattoo Company (1900 Coal Heritage Road Bluefield, WV)

🚨 The Bramwell Volunteer Fire Department would like to send a huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out and supported our Pancake Breakfast fundraiser! 🥞
Your support means so much to our department and community.

Thank you to everyone who donated, attended, shared kind words, and helped make the event such a success. We truly appreciate every contribution.

A special thank you goes out to all of our members who volunteered their time to cook, serve, clean, and help throughout the fundraiser. Your hard work and dedication never go unnoticed.

We also want to recognize the kids who sold lemonade and waited tables! You all did an amazing job and added something extra special to the day!

And finally, a very special THANK YOU to our Auxiliary member, Emily, for organizing and putting this fundraiser together. Your countless hours of planning and hard work helped make this event possible, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you do for our department and community.
