Branch City Rural Fire & Rescue We are a Volunteer Fire Rescue Department serving approx 60 sq. miles and 1000 citizens. We have 2 pumpers,1 pumper/tanker,1 tanker, and 2 brush rigs. ISO class 6

We cover a K-12 school with approx 500 students and faculty, and 25 miles of state hwy.

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for portions of Sebastian, Crawford, and Franklin counties until 10:00 PM.

At 9:24 PM, a severe storm was located near Lavaca moving southeast at 40 mph.

β€’ Winds up to 60 MPH
β€’ Dangerous lightning

Central Sebastian County, AR

At 9:37 PM, a line of severe storms was moving east at 50 mph from near Lavaca to south of Huntington.

Wind gusts up to 60 mph
Potential damage to roofs, siding, and trees

The National Weather Service has extended Tornado Watch 121 until 12:00 AM CDT for portions of western Arkansas and southeastern Oklahoma.

Affected Areas:

β€’ Arkansas: Franklin and Sebastian Counties

β€’ Oklahoma: Choctaw County

Cities Included: Charleston, Fort Smith, Ozark, and Hugo

Conditions remain favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes.

Residents in the affected areas are encouraged to:
βœ” Stay weather-aware and monitor local alerts

βœ” Have a plan in place in case warnings are issued

βœ” Be prepared to seek shelter quickly if conditions worsen
