Branch City Rural Fire & Rescue We are a Volunteer Fire Rescue Department serving approx 60 sq. miles and 1000 citizens. We have 2 pumpers,1 pumper/tanker,1 tanker, and 2 brush rigs. ISO class 6

We cover a K-12 school with approx 500 students and faculty, and 25 miles of state hwy.

⚠️ SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING ⚠️
The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for portions of Sebastian, Crawford, and Franklin counties until 10:00 PM.

At 9:24 PM, a severe storm was located near Lavaca moving southeast at 40 mph.

🚨 HAZARDS:
• Ping pong ball size hail
• Winds up to 60 MPH
• Dangerous lightning

📍 Areas impacted include: Fort Smith, Greenwood, Barling, Lavaca, Branch, Alma, Charleston, Mulberry, Fort Chaffee, Jenny Lind, Kibler, and surrounding communities.

⚠️ IMPACTS: Large hail can damage vehicles, roofs, siding, and windows. Strong winds may bring down trees and power lines.

🛑 TAKE ACTION NOW: • Move indoors immediately
• Stay away from windows
• Shelter in an interior room on the lowest floor
• Bring pets inside
• If traveling on I-40 or I-49, be prepared for rapidly changing conditions

The National Weather Service in Tulsa has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 6:00 PM CDT for:
• Northeastern Le Flore County (OK)
• Central Sebastian County (AR)
• Southwestern Franklin County (AR)

⛈️ Current Storm Info:
At 5:14 PM, a severe storm was located near Pocola, moving east at 35 mph.

⚠️ Hazards:
• 60 mph wind gusts
• Half-dollar size hail

💥 Impacts:
• Damage to roofs, siding, and trees likely
• Hail may damage vehicles

📍 Areas in the path include:
Fort Smith, Greenwood, Pocola, Hackett, Huntington, Bonanza, Branch, Midland, Cameron, Fort Chaffee, Jenny Lind, and surrounding communities.

🛑 TAKE ACTION NOW:
Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Stay away from windows.

🌪️ A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 7:00 PM CDT for the area.

A Tornado Warning has been issued for the Branch area. This means a tornado has been sighted or indicated by radar.

📍 If you are in or near Branch, AR:
Take shelter IMMEDIATELY
Go to a basement or storm shelter if available
Otherwise, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building
Stay away from windows and cover your head

⚠️ DO NOT wait to see the tornado. Conditions can change rapidly.

🚗 If you are in a vehicle, seek shelter in a building right away. Do NOT try to outrun a tornado.

🚨 Severe Thunderstorm Warning – Take Precautions 🚨

The National Weather Service Tulsa has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect until 10:30 PM CDT for:

Southern Franklin County, AR

Central Sebastian County, AR

At 9:37 PM, a line of severe storms was moving east at 50 mph from near Lavaca to south of Huntington.

⚠️ Hazards:

Wind gusts up to 60 mph
Potential damage to roofs, siding, and trees

📍 Areas impacted include:
Charleston, Huntington, Central City, Greenwood, Lavaca, Altus, Branch, Cecil, and surrounding communities.
Interstate 40 between mile markers 38–42 is also affected.

🛑 Safety Reminder:
Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and stay away from windows.

🌪️ A Tornado Watch remains in effect until midnight for west central Arkansas.
Stay weather aware and continue to monitor updates.

⚠️ Tornado Watch Extended Until Midnight ⚠️

The National Weather Service has extended Tornado Watch 121 until 12:00 AM CDT for portions of western Arkansas and southeastern Oklahoma.

Affected Areas:

• Arkansas: Franklin and Sebastian Counties

• Oklahoma: Choctaw County

Cities Included: Charleston, Fort Smith, Ozark, and Hugo

Conditions remain favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes.

Residents in the affected areas are encouraged to:
✔ Stay weather-aware and monitor local alerts

✔ Have a plan in place in case warnings are issued

✔ Be prepared to seek shelter quickly if conditions worsen

Remember: A watch means conditions are favorable. If a warning is issued for your area, take action immediately.
