🚧 TRAFFIC ADVISORY – NEW FOUR-WAY STOP IN GARRETT 🚧

Motorists traveling through Garrett should be aware of traffic changes!

Per the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 4 Elizabethtown, the intersection of KY 144 (Brandenburg Road) and KY 1238 (Garrett Road) has been converted from a two-way stop to a four-way stop.

📅 New stop signs, advance warning signs, and electronic message boards have been installed to alert drivers to the new traffic pattern.

⚠️ Motorists are urged to slow down, use caution, and pay attention to all traffic signs as drivers adjust to the new four-way stop.

..Patchy Dense River Fog Expected Thursday Morning...

River valley fog is expected to form through the overnight lasting through Thursday morning. With clear skies and calm winds, valley fog will become dense in localized areas. Additional patchy fog may develop outside of these valleys as well.

If traveling through river valleys and low-lying areas in the morning, increase the following distance and use low-beam headlights. Be sure to drive slower through dense fog and leave early to allow extra time to get to your destination.

A striping contractor is expected to make roadway marking changes at each location on Wednesday, October 21st. New stop signs and advance warning signs will be installed on each of these changing approaches. Electronic message boards will also be placed ahead of new stop condition approaches.

Motorists should use caution and be alert to the change as drivers adjust to these new traffic patterns.

ELIZABETHTOWN, KY. (Oct. 20, 2026) – Two intersections, one in Hardin County and one in Meade County, will be changing from two-way to four-way stops this week. Routes affected are KY 222 (Glendale-Hodgenville Road) at KY 1136 (New Glendale Road) in Glendale, along with KY 144 (Brandenburg Road) at KY 1238 (Garrett Road) in Garrett.

Our 911 Telecommunicators have gotten into the Halloween spirit by decorating pumpkins, and now we need YOUR help choosing the winner! 👻

We’ve posted 9 pictures of decorated pumpkins in our photo section. Please look at all of them as they are all great! Some pictures include a collage showing different sides of the same pumpkin.
