Meade County Fiscal Court Adopts Zoning Map Amendments 2026R-110, 2026R-111 and 2026R-112
Description: Meade County Fiscal Court adopted three zoning map amendments on August 11, 2026, following recommendations from the Meade County Planning and Zoning Commission.
Meade County Fiscal Court has formally adopted three zoning map amendments following review, public hearings, and unanimous recommendations for approval by the Meade County Planning and Zoning Commission.
The Planning Commission considered each request during its Regular Meeting on June 18, 2026. All three amendments were recommended for approval without conditions. First readings were held by Meade County Fiscal Court on July 14, 2026, with final consideration and adoption taking place on August 11, 2026.
Zoning Map Amendment 2026R-110

Property Size: Approximately 70 acres
Previous Zoning: A2 Agriculture
New Zoning: R1 Residential
The application requested the rezoning of approximately 70 acres for residential development. The Planning Commission determined that the request was in agreement with the adopted Meade County Comprehensive Plan, including the objective of encouraging cluster development to provide appropriate rural housing.
No members of the public spoke in favor of or against the request during the public hearing, and no testimony was presented in opposition.

The application requested rezoning to allow for additional residential development, including proposed two-family housing. The applicant indicated plans for approximately eight duplexes on the property.
The Planning Commission determined that the request was consistent with the Meade County Comprehensive Plan, including its objective of providing multiple housing types such as single-family, multifamily, low-income, and senior living options.
No members of the public spoke in favor of or against the request, and no testimony was presented in opposition.
Zoning Map Amendment 2026R-112
Applicant/Owner: Mary Rose
Property: Barwater Road, Brandenburg, KY

Property Size: Approximately 4 acres
Previous Zoning: A2 Agriculture
New Zoning: R1 Residential
The request was submitted to establish consistent R1 Residential zoning for the property. During the public hearing, two residents asked questions regarding permitted housing and the keeping of chickens, but no members of the public spoke in favor of or against the rezoning and no testimony was presented in opposition.
The Planning Commission determined that the amendment was consistent with the adopted Comprehensive Plan and noted the residential character of the surrounding area.

Zoning Map Amendments 2026R-110, 2026R-111, and 2026R-112 were adopted by the Meade County Fiscal Court on August 11, 2026.
