You're invited to an open forum public meeting MDOT is hosting on the proposed U.S. 80 intersection improvements from East of E Mark Drive to Felicity Street in the City of Brandon, Miss.!

📑 Project meeting materials will be available on MDOT's website beginning TOMORROW, April 1. (See comments for link)

We encourage the public to join us at this come-and-go meeting to view the proposed conceptual design, speak to MDOT representatives, and give feedback on the project.

Youth Leadership Rankin Applications are open! We invite any upcoming juniors (Juniors 2026 - 2027) who attend public, private, or home school in Rankin County to apply.

If you know a upcoming junior who is a leader and would benefit from building their skills, have them apply today! They will need to complete the application linked below and return it to the Rankin County Chamber of Commerce by Thursday, April 16th.

Today voters will select their party nominees for U.S. Senator and U.S. Congress in the Federal Primary Election.

When you arrive to vote, you will be asked which party ballot you prefer — Republican or Democratic.

Please remember:

* Bring a valid photo ID
* Tell the poll worker which party ballot you want
* Be ready to cast your vote

The ballot is small, but the decisions are important.

Many don’t realize our job extends far beyond the four walls of our offices. Throughout the year and especially during session, our MS Assessors and Collectors Association has the opportunity to work with our legislators and senators to communicate the needs of not only our own county constituents but those across the state. I am honored to be a member of our Legislative Committee and enjoy opportunities such as this to form relationships with those from all across the state.

We are currently accepting applications for the position of Firefighter. A hiring test will be held on January 21, 2026.

🗓 Application Deadline:
January 15, 2026 by 5:00 PM

Our administrative assistant, Christa, will be contacting all applicants to verify attendance for the hiring test. A letter will also be sent to all current applicants via email. This letter will include testing requirements and the locations for both the written and physical portions of the exam.

Grateful for the opportunity to show in the Rankin County 4-H Celebrity Livestock Showmanship event last night. Thank you to Ashley Duvall and son, Jacob, for allowing me to show your precious goat. She was a needy goat that really wanted head scratches and snacks, but she let all that go for a few good laps around the arena with me. 📸 Michelle Adcock

We are pleased to announce that ground was broken today for the future FLOWOOD location of the Rankin County Office. This location will better serve constituents with dedicated space for both the Rankin County Tax Collector and Assessor functions. Our current office at 5417 Highway 25 will remain operational until the new building is completed. The new facility will provide drive-through access, enabling more efficient service for our customers. We are excited for this new chapter!
