Reservoir Police Department The Reservoir Police Department's page is a community outreach effort to deliver pertinent information directly to the public ASAP.

The Reservoir Police Department established by Mississippi Law is an agency that has the primary response responsibility for the public areas of the Barnett Reservoir Project area operated by the Pearl River Valley Water Supply District. The Ross Barnett Reservoir extends through 5 Mississippi Counties and is made up of 33,000 of Water Surface & 18,000 acres of land both developed and undeveloped(

approximate acreage which is subject to change based on the current actual level of the reservoir). The Reservoir Police Department has two main divisions, a Patrol Division which is responsible for both land based and marine patrol, and the Parks Division which maintains a law enforcement presence in our four Recreation Vehicle Parks. Reservoir Police Officers are required by law to meet the requirements set forth by the Mississippi Board on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Training which includes successful graduation from and approved Basic Law Enforcement Academy. The Reservoir Police Department stands ready to answer any citizen's call for service on land or water 24 hours each day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

We want to take the time to thank Jackson Yurkow for choosing the Reservoir Police Department as his derby race! Jackson made a replica of our Ford F150 police vehicle and even had a cool little speaker that played “Bad Boys!!”

When we see things like this, it reminds us why we suit up everyday! These little ones are the future!!
