Central Mississippi Crime Stoppers partners with local Law Enforcement Agencies, the Community and the Media in Hinds, Madison, Rankin, Copiah, Simpson, Warren, Scott, Smith and Leake Counties in an effort to catch criminals and make information available to the public on crime prevention and safety tips. Crime Stopper Programs are organized as a "Not for Profit Organization" (Charity). A communi

ty based board of directors comprised of citizens, business owners, actively employed and or retired individuals, provides direction as to the financial and promotional activities of the program. . Crimestoppers enables persons with information pertaining to a crime to report it to law enforcement anonymously through Crimestoppers. If a tipster's information leads to the arrest of a suspect, law enforcement will notify Crimestoppers of the tip number that lead to the arrest. The board meets on a monthly basis which at that time approves a reward, up to $2500.00, which will be paid to the tip number submitted by law enforcement that lead to the arrest. The reward is distributed in a discreet and private manner to the tipster. The board nor law enforcement know the identity of the tipster. When reporting information via the call in number, the text number or a web tip, the tipster will be assigned a tip number. Retain this number for your records. Contact Central Mississippi Crimestoppers at 769-798-4636 a month after submitting the tip to learn if that tip was submitted for a reward. If so, instructions will be provided for collection of the reward.

The Clinton Police Department is needing assistance from the public identifying a suspect involved in a recent auto burglary. The auto burglary occurred June 15, 2026 some time between 4am and 5am, in the 1500 block of Hawthorne Place in Clinton.

🚨🚨BLUE ALERT: 18-year-old Cortavious Lawayne Hobbs and 19-year-old Cortavion Dewayne Hobbs are wanted in connection to an officer-involved shooting that occurred June 8th, 2026 at approximately 3:38 p.m. in Mount Olive, Mississippi.

Both are believed to be armed and dangerous and could be in the area of the 200 block of South Bluff Street, Mount Olive, Covington County Mississippi.

Please call 911 immediately if you see either Hobbs or if you observe any suspicious activity.

Cortavious Lawayne Hobbs is described as a black male, wearing a black hoodie, 18 years old, 5 feet and 6 inches tall, 140 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.

Cortavion Dewayne Hobbs is described as a black male, wearing a camouflage hoodie, 19 years old, 5 feet and 6 inches tall, 140 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.

At Around 6:30 p.m. a 78-year-old victim was pushed down, and her purse was taking along with cash by an unknown suspect. Suspect fled on foot in unknown direction. The Leake County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in recent burglary. On Sunday, March 22, 2026, at approximately 9:20 a.m., Deputies responded to Maydro’s Restaurant at 8894 Highway 13 following a reported burglary. Upon arrival, investigators found that the business had been forcibly entered, and three windows were smashed out of the building. The area surrounding the cash register had been ransacked, though the register itself remained unopened. Most critically, a Canik handgun was stolen from inside the restaurant. The Leake County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in recent burglary.
On March 21, 2026, at approximately 6:38 p.m., Leake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Harmony M.B. Church, located at 1011 Highway 487 West in Lena, Mississippi, following a reported burglary. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the church had been broken into and left in disarray. A total of $400 in cash was stolen from inside the building. Investigators need your help identifying suspects in this case. If you have any information, no matter how small, please come forward. Your tip could make all the difference.

The Clinton Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying an individual in reference to multiple ongoing theft investigations within the City of Clinton.

Over the past several months, several theft incidents have been reported. During the course of the investigations, detectives obtained photographs of an individual who may have information relevant to these cases. Although the images are not of sufficient clarity to allow for positive identification, investigators believe someone in the community may recognize the individual depicted.
