***UPDATE: The contractor has pushed back their arrival to the week of August 24, 2026. We will continue to provide updates as they become available.***

The Branford Department of Public Works is pleased to announce its 2026 Road Improvement and Resurfacing Project.
The following roads are scheduled to be reclaimed and resurfaced:

- FLORENCE RD.
-ORCHARD HILL RD,

Preparation work and the initial stages of construction are tentatively scheduled to begin the week of Monday, August 10, 2026, weather permitting. Paving operations will follow as the project progresses.

Motorists and residents are advised to expect minor traffic delays and occasional detours during construction. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as these roadway improvements are completed.

Please Note: The Town of Branford and the Department of Public Works are not responsible for damage to irrigation systems, sprinkler heads, invisible fences, stone or brick driveway aprons, or any other private improvements located within the Town's right-of-way.

*FRIENDLY REMINDER* The Branford Transfer Station will be CLOSED this Saturday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day 🇺🇸

The Transfer Station will be OPEN Friday, July 3rd from 7:15AM to 1:30PM. All other town offices will be closed in observance of Independence Day.

Curbside collection will NOT be impacted by this closure.

BRUSH CHIPPING WILL CONTINUE THROUGH WEDNESDAY, JULY 1, 2026.

⚠️BRUSH CHIPPING AT THE TRANSFER STATION🌳
Brush chipping is expected to begin tomorrow. Tuesday, 6/23/26 thru Monday, 6/29/26.
IN ADHERENCE TO SAFETY PROTOCOLS, NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO ENTER THE BACK OF THE PROPERTY WHILE THE MACHINE IS RUNNING. THEREFORE, WE CANNOT ACCEPT LEAVES OR BRUSH DROP-OFFS DURING THIS TIME. WHEN BRUSH CHIPPING IS COMPLETED, THE MULCH WILL BE AVAILABLE TO RESIDENTS FOR FREE, WHILE SUPPLIES LAST.
