SCAM ALERT!!
We have received several reports of someone pretending to be from the Town of Branford Planning and Zoning. The suspect is requesting monies be sent to them via wire to Fifth Third Bank through the Strip application. Planning and Zoning does not accept payment in this manner!!!!

The suspect t is doing research as the invoices that are being sent to potential victims are having work done that required oversight/permits from Planning and Zoning, so it is reasonable to believe that someone would make the payment.

We have also received reports of text messages from "Connecticut District Court-Traffic Violation Summons" regarding unpaid traffic violations. This is also a scam!!

If you have *provided funds* to either of these scams and are a Branford resident, you may contact our non-emergency line regarding the fraud at 203-481-4241. Please share with your friends and neighbors about these ongoing scams.

Happy Mother’s Day to the moms who don’t need body cameras because somehow… they already saw everything. 👀🚔

You can’t outrun them.
You can’t outsmart them.
And you definitely can’t say “it wasn’t me” with crumbs on your shirt.

Honestly, most of us got our first interrogation experience at the kitchen table. 😅

To all the moms protecting the peace, solving mysteries, and keeping tiny humans alive on little sleep and cold coffee — we salute you today. 💙

What will be played tonight 🎶 for their last song at prom….

“Forever Young”
“Time After Time”
“I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”……

We’re dating ourselves here, but wishing all our Branford High a safe and fun Prom night!!!

Here is a little safety reminder 🚔✨

Prom night should end with selfies, snacks, and memories — not police reports.

A few friendly reminders from BPD:
* Wear your seatbelt
* DON’T text and drive
* Definitely do not selfie and drive, no matter how much your makeup slays.
* Don’t drink and drive. Uber is cheaper than a lawyer.
* If your driver says “I’m totally fine,” they probably are not.

Make good choices-have fun, be smart, and get home safe! 🚓🎉

Heads up teens and parents/guardians!

Getting pulled over can feel intimidating, especially if you've just gotten your license. That's why we're happy to be hosting a new program where newly licensed drivers can learn all about what to expect when getting stopped by police, what to do (and just as importantly, what not to do), and even experience a mock traffic stop! 🚔

We're excited to be teaming up with the Guilford and North Branford Police Departments to host our first ever, "Traffic Stop Practice for Newly Licensed Drivers" event on Saturday, May 30th from 9AM-12PM at Guilford High School (605 New England Rd.)

The program will consist of two parts: Starting at 9AM, a slideshow presentation held in the Guilford High School library, followed by mock traffic stops in the school parking lot.
What You'll Learn 👮‍♂️👮
🚗 What to do when you see the flashing lights (and what NOT to do)
🚙 Possible outcomes of a traffic stop
🚗 What to do if you're involved in a traffic crash
🚙 About CT's Blue, Green, and Yellow Envelope Programs

The mock traffic stop will then show new drivers first hand how a traffic stop plays out in real life.

*The Breaking Barriers Mock Traffic Stop Event for Newly Licensed Drivers was created by the CT Chiefs of Police Association in partnership with the CT Department of Transportation, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and CT Department of Motor Vehicles. The program is designed to strengthen communication and understanding between police officers and motorists, particularly new drivers.

This event is free and open to any newly licensed drivers residing in Guilford, Branford, and North Branford. Drivers must have a valid driver's license or learner's permit, must attend with a parent or guardian, and must bring their valid license/permit, vehicle registration, and insurance card to the event.

➡️ Click the link below or visit guilfordpd.com to register by Saturday, May 23rd (registration is required).

We hope this program will help newly licensed drivers stay calm, safe, and informed during a traffic stop. Thank you for sharing, and hope to see you there! 🚓🚓
