Local Farmers Market Spotlight: Forsyth Mo Farmers and Artisans Market - Local Harvest 👨‍🌾🍅

The Forsyth Farmers and Artisans Market is a non-profit dedicated to the educational and charitable support of seniors and local growers. They provide a marketplace that encourages the restoration of local meat and produce production while promoting sustainable agricultural practices. The market also serves as a community gathering place; with live music every Saturday, it has become a weekly spot for neighbors to eat and socialize.

This market features homegrown plants and vegetables, handmade items from local craftsmen, and specialized products like farm-fresh eggs, local honey, and herbal skincare. They offer USDA beef, pork, and lamb; farm-fresh chicken, quail, and duck eggs; fresh local and Amish-grown produce; and various baked goods, including gluten-free and dairy-free options. Handmade offerings include wooden birdhouses, jewelry, sewn bags, papercrafts, and home decor.

Additionally, they host a Senior Voucher Food Program funded by a $10,000 annual grant from the Senior Tax Board. This program provides 200 Taney County senior households with $50 in vouchers to spend at the market. They are also excited to host eight "Young Entrepreneurs" (ages 7 to 13) this season!
