Today was a special day at BHS as we celebrated our Seniors!
Our seniors kicked off the morning watching the sunrise with doughnuts, and hot chocolate before heading inside to paint their custom ceiling tiles that will line our hallways all year long.

Our hallways are about to look incredible with this year's masterpieces!

Our Branson FFA members recently traveled to Clever High School to compete in the Area Fall Speaking and Opening & Closing Ceremonies Contests and they represented with excellence! 🏴‍☠️

🗣️ Fall Speaking Contest
Three students represented Branson FFA in their respective categories:
▪️ Joey Stanford – Sheep Producers (Advancing to Districts!)
▪️ Kennedy Mains – Missouri Quarter Horse Association
▪️ Fulton McGuire – Young Farmers/Young Farm Wives Education Association

A special congratulations to Joey Stanford for advancing to the District Fall Speaking Contest on November 9th! We wish him the best of luck as he moves on! 👏

We also want to give a big shoutout to Kennedy and Fulton for competing in their very first speaking contest! We are so proud of you both for stepping outside your comfort zones and taking on a new challenge.

📜 Opening & Closing Ceremonies Contest
Our team of seven first-year FFA members earned 3rd place at the Area Contest!
🎉 Congratulations to team members: Rodinei Aguirre, Morgan Blozink, Isaac Campbell, Lilly Cruz, Hallie Plez, Sawyer Sout, and Gavin Zaremba! What an awesome accomplishment for these first-year members!

District leaders recently gathered for the Branson Chamber and Convention & Visitors Bureau Good Morning, Branson annual Fall Education Panel!
Superintendent Dr. Nate Moore represented Branson Public Schools alongside fellow local administrators to share key insights on educational funding priorities and innovative ways our schools are preparing students for college and career pathways.

We were especially proud to have student leaders from our GOCAPS team and Air Force JROTC cadets in attendance! Having our students present served as a powerful reminder of why we invest in workforce-ready programs and community partnerships.

Events like this highlight the strong bond between our schools, regional partners, and the local business community. Thank you to everyone who supports our mission to help every student succeed!

Academic Excellence in Action! 🎓✨
Congratulations to Branson High School senior Georgia Griffith for being named a Commended Student in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program! 🏴‍☠️

Georgia is one of approximately 34,000 students nationwide receiving a Letter of Commendation this year. This recognition places her among the top 50,000 students who entered the highly competitive program by taking the 2025 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

"We are very proud of Georgia and the dedication she has shown throughout her educational journey," shared BHS Senior Counselor Dixie Bailey. "Being recognized as a National Merit recipient is an exciting honor, and we look forward to seeing all she will accomplish in the future."

🗣️ Outstanding Start for Speech and Debate! 🏆
The BHS Speech and Debate team had a fantastic first tournament of the year at MSU this weekend! Fifteen students from our 30+ member team attended, representing Branson in 22 different events. 🏴‍☠️

Here is a look at their incredible weekend results:
▪️ 7 students placed in the top five in their events!
▪️ The team brought home 8 total trophies, including 3 first-place finishes!

What comes after high school? 🎓✨
College, technical programs, military service, or jumping straight into the workforce—there are so many paths available after graduation! Branson High School is bringing these possibilities together under one roof at our annual College & Career Fair.
📅 Date: Monday, October 19
⏰ Time: 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.
📍 Location: Branson High School (935 Buchanan Road)
Students in grades 9–12 and their families are encouraged to attend! We are also excited to welcome area high school students and families from Forsyth, Hollister, Blue Eye, Bradleyville, and School of the Ozarks. 🏫🤝

Parent-Teacher Conferences are more than just check-ins—they're your chance to discover the amazing things your children are learning every day! Whether your Pirate is just starting their educational journey or preparing to graduate, this is a great time to strengthen connections, spark engagement, and keep every student's support team strong.

📅 Conference Schedule for Thursday, October 22:
▪️ Elementary (PreK-6): Scheduled meetings between 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Teachers will communicate directly with parents/guardians to set up a meeting time.
▪️ Junior High & High School: By appointment between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., and arena-style from 1:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Be sure to watch for building-specific communications with more information.

🛑 Important Schedule Reminders:
▪️ Thursday, Oct. 22: No Student Attendance (Parent-Teacher Conferences)
▪️ Friday, Oct. 23 & Monday, Oct. 26: No School (Fall Break)

We had an incredible time connecting with everyone at our 4th Annual Branson Public Schools Community Summit!

Superintendent Dr. Nate Moore kicked off the event with a great presentation about the district, followed by engaging table discussions where students, parents, teachers, and business leaders shared their ideas and perspectives with district representatives.

This summit is such a meaningful opportunity for us to connect with our community, listen to feedback, and work together toward future success. We are so grateful to everyone who joined us to support Branson Schools! ❤️
