🎆 Fireworks Reminder for Residents 🎆

As we celebrate the holiday, the Village would like to remind everyone that the possession, sale, and discharge of fireworks are prohibited within the Village limits under Village Code 1519.04, except for specific exemptions provided by Ohio law and the Village Code.

This includes the discharge of consumer fireworks on private property. The Village has opted out of Ohio's permissive fireworks law, making the use of fireworks within Village limits illegal unless specifically authorized.

Please help keep our community safe by:

1) Leaving fireworks displays to licensed professionals.
2) Being considerate of your neighbors, pets, and veterans.
3) Following all local laws and regulations.

After 10 intense weeks of leadership training and professional development, Sergeant Timothy O'Haire has officially graduated from the prestigious FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

The FBI National Academy is widely recognized as one of the top law enforcement leadership programs in the world. Less than 1% of officers nationwide are selected to attend. The program brings together law enforcement leaders from across the United States and around und the globe for advanced training in leadership, constitutional law, behavioral science, wellness, communication, and emerging public safety challenges.

"Graduating from the FBI National Academy was an incredible honor and a career milestone," said Sergeant O'Haire. "The experience challenged me professionally and personally, and I'm excited to bring back new ideas, stronger partnerships, and proven strategies that will benefit the Bratenahl community and the officers who serve it every day."

Please join us in welcoming our newest officer, Anthony Lombardo, who was officially sworn in and has joined our department.

Officer Lombardo brings valuable law enforcement experience from the Summit County Sheriff's Office. We are excited to have him continue his law enforcement career with our agency and look forward to the knowledge, experience, and leadership he brings to our team.

The oath of office represents a commitment to serve and protect our community with integrity, accountability, and respect. We are confident Officer Lombardo will uphold those values as he begins this new chapter of service.

Today marks one year since the passing of Officer Al Nagy.

Officer Nagy dedicated his life to serving and protecting his community. His impact continues to be felt by those who had the honor of working alongside him and the many lives he touched throughout his career.

Over the weekend, our officers arrested someone for drunk driving who also had a firearm on them.

Driving under the influence is dangerous enough—adding a loaded firearm to the situation can turn a bad decision into a tragic one.

If you’ve been drinking:
• Don’t drive
• Secure your firearm properly
• Make a plan to get home safely

Alcohol impairs judgment, reaction time, and decision-making. Mixing that with a vehicle and a weapon puts everyone at serious risk.
