The Town of Brattleboro is conducting a housing survey to help the Town and its partners create housing solutions to address pressing housing needs. Your contribution to the study of housing needs is very important. Findings from the survey will be incorporated into a Housing Action Plan that is expected to be completed this fall. Take the survey at http://tinyurl.com/brattleborohousing. In addition to residents of Brattleboro, property owners and those who would like to live in Brattleboro but have had trouble finding housing are encouraged to take the survey.

All participants will be entered into a chance to win one of four $25 gift cards. For a hard copy of the survey, visit Brooks Memorial Library or the Planning Department (Suite 202 in the Municipal Center). You may also contact the Planning Department at 802-251-8154 or [email protected] and we will send you a copy of the survey. Thank you for your time and thoughts!

Volunteers wanted to help with HWA study in Windham County If you live near Jamaica, Fort Dummer, or Townsend State Park and like to take regular walks outdoors, we need you! We are looking for a few volunteers to help Forester Jim Esden with phenology studies of hemlock woolly adelgid. A critical factor for success with biocontrol of HWA is knowing when two important HWA life stages occur – the progrediens and sistens phase. Volunteers would go out approximately once a week, harvest a small piece of a hemlock twig infested with HWA, bring the twig home, examine it under a magnifier or hand lens, and keep a log of observations. If you are interested in participating, please email [email protected] and I will send you detailed information. If you know of another confirmed HWA infestation that is not in one of these state parks, you are also welcome to participate in the study.
