National Night Out is next Tuesday August 5th from 5-7pm. Any organizations that are still interested in participating have until Friday August 1st to reserve your spot. Brazil Police Department will be hosting a Shop with a Cop event for the Back to School season this year. Our goal is to provide clothes and school supplies for the child(ren) of families in need. Children must reside and attend school within Clay County. Applications will be available at 401 W. National Avenue beginning on Monday June 30th, and should be returned no later than 4 pm on Wednesday July 16th.

2025 National Night Out is Tuesday August 5, 2025 from 5p-7p at Forest Park (Cow Palace).
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.
Community partners interested in participating should contact event coordinator Charity Norris by phone (812-446-2211) or email [email protected]
Space will be reserved for those who contact the event coordinator by Friday August 1, 2024.

The Brazil Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Patrol Officer. Applications may be picked up at the Police Department located at 401 W National Avenue. The application must be returned no later than 3 pm on Friday February 14th, 2025.
Basic Eligibility Requirements:
-United States Citizen
-Age 21 but not yet age 40 by time of appointment
-Valid Indiana driver’s license
-High School diploma or GED
-No felony or domestic battery convictions
-No Dishonorable Discharge from military service
Benefits:
Rotating 12 hour shifts-every other weekend off
Health, dental, vision and life insurance
$1000 yearly clothing allowance
Fully funded Police Pension
Earn up to 5 weeks vacation
14 paid holidays/12 sick days
Overtime/off duty opportunities
Assigned Take home car
Salary of up to $58,000

Nothing worse than getting stranded by a flat around the holidays. Thankfully, our Officers wear many hats, and were able to get this elderly woman on her way without much of a hiccup 🙏🏼
